About
Yi Lian was, however, born into a family of flowers and was academically and professionally trained as a fashion editor and journalist. She started Yi Lian Ng Floral Atelier while she was still working as a fashion news editor for the Singapore edition of Harper’s BAZAAR and realised her flair for floral styling was an accumulation from her fashion exposure to colours, silhouettes and proportions.
During her three-and-half-year stint at Harper’s BAZAAR, Yi Lian had hosted fashion events for luxury brands, styled numerous pages and interviewed countless numbers of world-renowned designers; translating her experiences to hosting floral workshops and creating original floral arrangements.
Prior to Harper’s BAZAAR, Yi Lian worked in Hong Kong for WGSN, the global leader in fashion trend forecasting and market intelligence as a retail editor and travelled extensively in the Asia Pacific region to report on retail trends and patterns—all of which shaped her aesthetics.
Combine the above with her background of growing up with flowers at her family’s four-decade-old floral wholesaler and an intensive three-day workshop at the prestigious Flower School New York, Yi Lian now offers her wide array of floral services and workshop hosting from personal and corporate gifting and subscriptions to weddings and events.
Yi Lian has provided floral arrangements for Gucci, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co., Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chopard and other luxury clients who require an innate talent for design and artistic composition to compliment their unique and diverse reputations.
